“Today they took the life of an innocent child, they took it away from him when he was still in the arms of his mother. A shot robbed him of the hope of a better future that was also denied him in Venezuela as a result of an indolent dictatorship that denies the most basic rights,” said Mrs. Rosales de Guaidó in a message broadcast through her social network accounts.

The wife of President in Charge Juan Guaidó affirmed that Venezuelans who leave on boats for Trinidad and Tobago risk their lives in order not to remain in the poverty and misery to which the Maduro regime has pushed them.

“A complex humanitarian emergency that leaves painful results,” she said.

She also assured that this group of Venezuelans are doubly vulnerable since the regime violated their Constitutional and fundamental rights in Venezuela and violated their Human Rights which forced them to migrate.

Against this background, the First Lady asserted that with the restoration of democracy it will be possible to put an end to so many stories of separation and pain.

“It is urgent that justice be done after this painful event, and that once and for all, these practices that threaten the lives of the most vulnerable: forced migrants, who only seek life expectancy and opportunities that in Venezuela denies them,” she concluded.
