“The Delta variant begins to wreak havoc in the world where vaccination has advanced massively, in Venezuela where just 5% has been immunized, the consequences could be worse,” Borges said through a message on his official Twitter account.

Furthermore, the Venezuelan diplomat pointed Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship as responsible for the ongoing crisis in the healthcare sector, the high rate of contagion by coronavirus, and the paltry vaccination system implemented against COVID-19.

“Nicolás Maduro’s failure to vaccinate against Covid-19 is monumental,” he said.

The representative of foreign policy added that “Venezuela appears in the last place in the region in terms of vaccination per 100 inhabitants.”
